The Clemson School of Accountancy is excited to welcome Marc Cussatt, Ph.D., to the faculty as a new assistant professor. Dr. Cussatt started his academic career at Washington State University in 2014 after getting his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before entering academia, Dr. Cussatt worked for PwC based out of the New York City office.
Dr. Cussatt predominantly conducts archival research focusing on financial accounting topics as well as topics that span the intersection of financial accounting and audit/tax. Some of the major themes of his existing research are fair value accounting, accounting for other comprehensive income, and defined-benefit pension accounting. Dr. Cussatt’s research has been published in journals such as The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, and the Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance.
In his free time, Marc enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Kristina, children Ava (4) and Eli (2), and wiener dog Sampson (14). Marc and his family love spending time outdoors in any way possible, and are excited to explore all of the outdoor recreational opportunities the Upstate has to offer. Marc and his family are also big fans of collegiate athletics and look forward to attending Tiger Football, Baseball, Basketball, Softball, Tennis, Volleyball, and Golf events.
