Alumnus Wins Top Deer Management Award

Craig Harper (Ph.D., ’98) has been honored with the prestigious Deer Management Career Achievement Award at the 47th annual meeting of the Southeast Deer Study Group, held from February 11-14, 2024, in Shepherdstown, WV. Presented by the Southeast Deer Study Group, a working group of The Wildlife Society encompassing 17 states, this award recognizes exceptional contributions to the understanding of white-tailed deer ecology and management.

This is the highest honor for professionals in this field and is awarded only when an individual demonstrates outstanding achievement. The last recipient was in 2020. Harper is the second Clemson graduate to receive this accolade since its inception in 1995.
