Post Doctoral Fellow – EEES

September 23, 2024

The Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences seeks candidates for the position of Post Doctoral Fellow.  Take the lead on the numerical modeling task associated with the SERDP project “Biotic and Abiotic Degradation of 1,4-Dioxane Diffusing from Clay: Mechanisms, Kinetics, and Role in Long-Term Attenuation in Groundwater.”

Job Duties: Perform a literature search of existing numerical models that describe the fate and transport of 1,4-dioxane as it diffuses through clay in aquifers. Develop a numerical model to simulate the fate and transport of 1,4-dioxane as it diffuses through layers of clay in aquifers. Perform model simulations and sensitivity analyses. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications: PhD in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum Experience: Numerical modeling of complex environmental systems.
