School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences

Roar & Soar Event Held in Atlanta

April 17, 2025

Alumni from both the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences and the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering enjoyed an evening of networking and important updates from the founding School director, Jesus M. de la Garza and keynote speaker Tom Rochester, a Clemson civil engineering alumni who founded Southeastern Architectural Systems (SEAS). Mr. Rochester imparted stories of wisdom for the area alumni, students, faculty, and industry partners in attendance. The Roar & Soar stop in Atlanta was held on April 17th at the Cherokee Town & Country Club. A special student poster session with industry partner engagement was also part of the program. Four students presented their research during the first half of the event. The graduate student presentations were given by Saylen Sofia Paz, Adam Biel, Jianing Bao, and Arash Teymori Gharah Tapeh.

This event, the fifth in the Roar & Sour alumni engagement tour was co-hosted by two more Clemson alums, Tammy Hill, Senior Associate at Hazen and Sawyer and Marshall Brown, CEO, President, and Founder of ACM Chemistries. Thank you to Tammy, Marshall, and Tom for your generous support!

The School of CEEES is looking forward to meeting more alumni during Spring ’26 when the Roar and Soar alumni outreach tour continues. Go Tigers!
