Top students honored in College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences

Some of the best and brightest students in the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences were recognized this week for their outstanding work in several areas, including academics, character, leadership and research.

They were honored in an April 1 ceremony held online to maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Electrical Engineering Junior Catherine Crowe was this year’s recipient of the Robert W. Moorman Award, given to the most outstanding junior in engineering on the basis of scholarship and character.

Anand Gramopadhye, the college’s dean, congratulated the honorees, and commended them for their perseverance and commitment to not only surviving a year made more challenging by the pandemic, but in taking the time to help others along the way.

“I urge you to continue to be seekers of truth and knowledge and use this knowledge wisely – make your corner of the world a better place,” Gramopadhye said. “And to your parents, I say ‘thank you and well done!’”
