DeVol Selected as Fellow of the Health Physics Society

Dr. Timothy DeVol was selected as a 2019 Fellow of the Health Physics Society (HPS). Selection of HPS Fellows is made on the basis of significant administrative, educational, and/or scientific contributions to the profession of health physics.  Formed in 1956, HPS is a scientific organization of professionals who specialize in radiation safety. Its mission is to support its members in the practice of their profession and to promote excellence in the science and practice of radiation safety.  Its members represent all scientific and technical areas related to radiation safety, including academia, government, medicine, research and development, analytical services, consulting, and industry in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Dr. DeVol is the Toshiba Professor of Nuclear Engineering in EEES. His research interests are in the areas of radiological environmental measurements, environmental health physics, statistical methods, homeland security, radioactive material process monitoring and in-situ and field portable analytical instrumentation for radioactive environmental contaminant quantification.
