Congratulations to Dr. Brian Powell, for his appointment to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Science Advisory Board (SAB). Dr. Powell also represents Clemson University on this esteemed national board. The recent press release announced that members on this board are well-qualified experts from a broad range of scientific disciplines. They bring the experience and expertise needed to provide Gold Standard scientific advice to EPA leadership as they advance the agency’s core mission of protecting human health and the environment.
The SAB was established in 1978 by the Environmental Research, Development and Demonstration Authorization Act to provide independent advice to the EPA Administrator on scientific and technical matters underlying the agency’s major policies and actions. We are proud of Dr. Powell’s accomplishment and are grateful for his opportunity to serve in this capacity. Go Tigers!!
