Kaitlyn Faugerstrom Awarded AWWA Scholarship

Kaitlyn FaugerstromCongratulations to Kaitlyn Faugerstrom, who was recently awarded the Neptune Technology Group Scholarship from the American Water Works Association (AWWA).  Kaitlyn is a junior majoring in Environmental Engineering. The AWWA scholarship sponsors students who are interested in the water industry.  Kaitlyn received letters of recommendation from Drs. David Ladner, David Freedman, and Sudeep Popat. Kaitlyn started out as a chemical engineering student, but her curiosity and passion about the environment led her to switch to Environmental Engineering.  She made the transition in majors with the help of Dr. Tom Overcamp. Within the first semester of environmental engineering, she knew that she had made the correct choice. Kaitlyn worked at the Hanahan Water Treatment Plant last summer, which further solidified her interest in the water industry. Kaitlyn is also minoring in business administration and hopes to use that in conjunction with her environmental engineering education to become a sales engineer in the field of water and wastewater.
