Karanfil Selected as Associate Editor

Dr. Tanju Karanfil was selected to serve as an Associate Editor for the journal Water Research.  The invitation was extended to Karanfil by the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, Professor Eberhard Morgenroth.  With a current impact factor of 9.130, Water Research is widely regarded as one of the premier journals in the field of environmental engineering and science.  Karanfil joins an Editorial Board comprised of worldwide leaders in research.  In addition to serving as the Vice President for Research at Clemson University, Karanfil manages to maintain a highly active research group in EEES.  His primary teaching and research interests are in the fundamentals and applications of physiochemical processes in water, wastewater, and hazardous waste treatment systems.  Dr. Karanfil’s research group is particularly interested in applying fundamentals of chemistry and engineering to address environmental challenges faced in practical applications including both engineered and natural systems.
