Dr. Nicole Martinez was selected as the winner of the 2020 Murray Stokely Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Stokley Award is given to a faculty member in the College of Engineering, Computing, and Applied Sciences who has demonstrated excellence in teaching engineering at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. According to EEES Department Chair David Freedman, who provided one of the letters of support, “EEES has some excellent classroom instructors who routinely perform above average on student evaluations. None, however, match the record that Dr. Martinez has achieved in her first five years with respect to the number of perfect scores on teaching effectiveness. . . Many of us will go our entire careers without ever achieving a perfect evaluation; Dr. Martinez’s has set a new bar for excellence in teaching.”
Congratulations Nicole!
