Clemson’s Office of Global Engagement welcomes two new directors

Andy Kabasele

Andy Kabasele
Andy Kabasele was hired as the director of International Services. In this role, Kabasele will oversee the immigration advising services for the more than 1500 international students, faculty and staff studying or working at Clemson. This includes, J-1, F-1 visas for students, H-1B for faculty and staff, as well as, the OPT and CPT practical training extensions for graduating students. He and his associates also provide orientation and some support services to our international population, as well as activities to enhance Clemson’s global identity on campus and abroad.

Kabasele comes to Clemson from the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) where he served as Associate Director of International Admissions.

A naturalized U.S. citizen, Kabasele was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and immigrated, by way of France, to the U.S.

Uttiyo Raychaudhuri

Dr. Uttiyo Raychaudhuri joined Clemson to lead the Office of Study Abroad. Raychaudhuri will work to expand the global engagement opportunities for students and provide the administrative support to colleges and departments as they expand their international programs.

The new director comes to Clemson from the University of Georgia where he was the associate director of Global Programs in Sustainability Office.

Raychaudhuri earned a Ph.D. in forestry and natural resources from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in education from University of Georgia, with earlier experience in environmentally intelligent design and architecture. Throughout his varied career, he has actively promoted the cause of inter-cultural competence and environmental stewardships.

A native of India, Raychaudhuri currently lives in Athens, GA with his wife and two children.
