Contests, interactive maps and more at GIS Day Nov. 16

GISDay2016The Clemson Center for Geospatial Technologies will host its annual GIS Day on Nov. 16, 2016, from 11 to 4:30 p.m. at 412 RM Cooper Library.

GIS Day (short for Geographic Information Systems) features presentations from Clemson faculty and GIS professionals across the region, including keynote speaker Greg Dobson, director of geospatial technology at the National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center (NEMAC) at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Speakers will cover a diverse range of topics that include new technology, the environment and public health. A map gallery will also show off posters and interactive web maps from students and researchers across the university.

All members of the Clemson community can also enter several contests to win prizes such as a signed Clemson football, brand new quadcopter drones, FitBits, Minecraft Lego sets, waterproof Bluetooth speakers, and lunch for two with the Provost, Dr. Robert Jones. Free food and beverages will be also available.
