FACILITIES: Main campus steam service to be temporarily shut down

A leak in one of the university’s main steam trunk lines will require a temporary shutdown of steam service to Clemson’s main campus. The exact time of the scheduled shutdown is dependent on the extent of the repair. Facilities anticipates that the shutdown will begin tomorrow (June 2) at 10 a.m. and last at least 12 hours.

This outage will affect the entire campus and all systems that rely on steam. These systems include building heating systems, hot water, autoclaves/sterilizers, dishwashers and any equipment, process or research activities that use central campus steam.
