The Office of Teaching Effectiveness and Innovation’s second annual Clemson Teaching Excellence Conference will be held on Friday, Nov. 1. This half-day conference will focus on evidence-based teaching and features Regan Gurung, a dynamic speaker on teaching in higher education. An internationally recognized and widely published figure in the science of teaching and learning, Gurung is the author, co-author or editor of 15 books, including An Evidence- based Guide to College and University Teaching (Routledge, 2016) and Big Picture Pedagogy (Jossey-Bass, 2017).
A Scholarship of Teaching and Learning discussion is planned and Gurung’s keynote will be in the Watt Family Innovation Center auditorium. After Gurung’s talk, participants can enjoy an open-floor event in the Watt Atrium to explore innovative teaching ideas. There will be digital displays, games and activities used by peers to intellectually engage students presented by faculty, Watt staff, OTEI, Clemson Online and the Libraries. Refreshments will be provided and there will be prizes, too. To register, click here.
