Seeking presentations: 2019 Queer Scholarship Showcase: 50 years after Stonewall

“Pride” is the annual series of LGBTQ+ programming spearheaded by the Gantt Multicultural Center and other collaborators across campus.  This year, the Gantt Center willl offer small- and large-scale events from March 25 through April 5. Interested Clemson members are encouraged to check Gantt’s webpage and Facebook for updates.

As part of this year’s campus pride programming, Clemson University libraries, the PRTM department, and the Harvey and Lucinda Gantt Multicultural Center will celebrate LGBTQ-themed scholarship. To facilitate this effort, faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit proposals to share their work in 10 to 15-minute lightning round presentations on the afternoon of April 4, in Hendrix Center, Ballroom B, as part of the inaugural Queer Scholarship Showcase: 50 years after Stonewall.

“Scholarship” can include materials such as academic research, practitioner research, focus groups, curriculum development, grant writing, dissertations, conference presentations, etc.

The lightning rounds will be used to highlight the major components of the material as well as the overall experience of conducting research related to the LGBTQ+ community.

Submitters should complete the brief Qualtrics survey found at this link to submit their proposal(s).

Please contact Stephen Lewis at stlewis@clemson.edu with any questions. Proposal reviews will begin Feb. 11.
