Daryl Max Guffey, Ph.D., faculty – May 5, 2018

Dr. Daryl Max Guffey, 68, of Anderson died May 5, 2018.  He was an accounting professor and had served Clemson University for almost 19 years. His primary teaching interest was financial accounting with a secondary interest in cost/managerial accounting.

Guffey has more than 30 refereed journal articles and his research was cited hundreds of times and discussed in BusinessWeek. He served as an associate editor of The Accounting Educators’ Journal and on the editorial board of Global Perspectives, Accounting Education and Advances in Accounting Education.

Guffey is survived by his wife, two sons, family and friends.

Memorial service information

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Friday at The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rodgers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
