James H. Jones Jr., lecturer emeritus in computer science – May 4, 2021

James H. Jones Jr., 87, of Anderson, lecturer emeritus in computer science, died May 4, 2021.

Jones graduated with honors in Electrical Engineering in 1957. He had a long career with IBM in sales, management and consulting. When he retired from IBM, he taught computer science courses at Clemson for 17 years. After retiring from teaching, he continued to work at the Testing Center at Clemson until his death.

While a student at Clemson, he was a class officer, a member of Blue Key, Tiger Brotherhood and The Numeral Society. He was cheerleader all four years and was the head cheerleader his senior year.

Jones is survived by his wife, Bobbie DeVore Jones; daughters Sharon Cibene, Linda Price (Carl) and Darlene Segars (George); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
