John (Jack) Lovett Stevenson, professor emeritus – Oct. 27, 2016

John (Jack) Lovett Stevenson, 88, of Clemson died Oct. 27, 2016.  Dr. Stevenson was the assistant dean for undergraduate education and professor in the parks, recreation and tourism management department. Additionally, Stevenson was a counselor at Redfern Health Center and was the director of Calhoun College for 10 years before retiring in 1991 with 23 years of service.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Stevenson’s son, David, is an applied instructor of guitar in the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.

Memorials may be made to Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Foothills Community Chapel Fund, Pickens County United Christian Ministry, Pickens County Library, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Amnesty International, or the Stevenson Family Endowment for Guitar Studies at Clemson University.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 4 at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church, Clemson.
