Kenneth Ted Wallenius, Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences – January 4, 2022

Ted Wallenius, 89, of Seneca, Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences, died January 4, 2022.

Wallenius taught at Yale University before settling at Clemson University in 1968, with multiple visiting professorships at the University of Copenhagen, Naval Postgraduate School, Stanford, the Office of Naval Research, the National Institute of Science and Technology and the University of Athens, Greece. He was the first recipient of the Sigma Xi Award as “Clemson University Outstanding Researcher.”

Surviving in addition to his wife, Marcia, are his daughter, Susan Rae Pollard, and her husband, Phil; son, Steven Todd Wallenius, and his husband, Scott Parker; daughter, Sara Lynn Mertz, and her husband, John; and several grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at some time in the future prior to interment at Woodland Cemetery on the campus of Clemson University.
