Sarah Marshall, Peer-Assisted Learning Program Coordinator, Academic Success Center

Sarah MarshallClemson University mourns the death of Sarah Marshall, the Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) Program Coordinator in the University’s Academic Success Center. Marshall died in an auto accident January 25, 2023.

Marshall was hired at Clemson July 12, 2021, and had been a student employee in the Academic Success Center and in the Nieri Family Student-Athlete Enrichment Center. 

“Sarah brought energy and intention to her work. Her legacy is one of a passion for learning and a heart for service,” said Associate Director of Peer Learning Support Programs Rachel Anderson. “She enjoyed mentoring her student coordinators and PAL leaders and celebrating their many accomplishments. Her loss will be felt by the countless students, faculty and staff she impacted during her time as a Clemson student and a professional in higher education.”

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is providing grief counseling to students. Any student who wants to speak to a counselor should contact CAPS at 864-656-2451. An after-hours CAPS counselor can be reached by calling 864-656-2451 and selecting option 2 to speak to a counselor.

Counseling services are also available to faculty and staff through ComPysch, the University’s Employee Assistance Program provider, at 866-365-0813.
