Tracy Sandifer’s connection to Clemson runs deep. A proud alumna, she earned her undergraduate degree and MBA from Clemson University. While earning her bachelor’s degree, Tracy’s co-op experience helped clarify her career goals, ultimately leading her to see the Clemson MBA Program as a natural next step after graduation.
Reflecting on her MBA journey, Tracy recalls the immense impact of the program’s emphasis on networking. “What really sets the program apart is the extensive network, especially through events like the Networking Forum and Networking Night,” she shares. Tracy first connected with her current employer, Cisco, at one of these career services events.
She met Steven Foster at the event, who gave her valuable feedback and support and even wrote her a referral. This connection ultimately helped her land a position at Cisco. As a testament to her gratitude, Tracy returns to the networking forum, representing Cisco and assisting current MBA students. “The events that Jamie Patterson organizes are incredibly helpful. They teach real-world business etiquette and how to be professional in all settings,” she notes.
Currently based in Houston, Texas, Tracy thrives in her role at Cisco. She manages customer accounts, helping clients navigate business challenges and presenting innovative solutions. Much of her focus has recently been on educating customers about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing significance. Tracy is also involved in Cisco’s partnership with Paw Journey, offering Clemson Football players micro-internships to give them insights into professional life.
In addition to her professional achievements, Tracy is the president of the Clemson MBA Alumni Council. In this role, she is dedicated to ensuring that alums stay engaged with current students, creating opportunities for mentorship and support. “Clemson opened doors for me, so I want to help open doors for more students,” she explains.
Looking ahead, Tracy aspires to grow within Cisco and move into a management role where she can help others realize their potential. She also hopes to return to the Carolinas one day. In the meantime, she remains committed to giving back to the MBA program by supporting initiatives like the networking forum and helping prepare case challenges for students.
For current and prospective Clemson MBA students, Tracy offers this advice: “Take advantage of everything the program offers—volunteering, the MBA Student Association, and all the other opportunities. There’s so much more than what’s just in the classroom.”
