Bobby Dailey, a United States Navy veteran and 2023 graduate of the Clemson MBA Corporate program, has built his career on discipline, service, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

After serving in the Navy and Navy Reserve, then completing his undergraduate degree from Clemson in 2006, Bobby knew there was no better place than his alma mater to continue his education. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in 2020, he witnessed firsthand how it impacted his business and those around him, motivating him to return to the classroom and refine his skills.

Bobby’s journey of service began at an early age. Before his senior year of high school, he enlisted in the Navy, following a family tradition of military service. “I’ve always had an affinity for the water, and with my family’s history in the Navy and Marines, it felt like a natural path,” Bobby shares. By graduation, he had received his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in the Navy’s construction battalion, known as the Seabees.

Reflecting on his time in the military, Bobby describes it as a transformative experience: “It’s such a great opportunity to meet people from all walks of life who are united by a shared purpose.”

As Veterans Day has come around, Bobby expresses deep gratitude for those who serve: “It’s an honor to recognize everyone who has served, is serving, or will serve in the future. For me, it was such a privilege to wear the uniform for this amazing country.”

Transitioning from military life to the Clemson MBA program, Bobby brought with him the discipline and focus instilled through his service. Looking back, he credits the program, particularly Professor Simsek’s class, with helping him develop the ability to identify and solve business challenges and craft effective strategies. “The MBA gave me a well-rounded understanding of the business world,” he notes.

Today, Bobby is an entrepreneur and business owner. He runs two ventures: The SpartanWeekly News, a family-owned publication he’s modernizing with new content and a redesigned website, and a growing real estate LLC. His long-term goal is both professional and personal: “I want to create a legacy that can be carried on through my daughter, Ginger Dailey.”

For current and prospective students, especially those with military backgrounds, Bobby offers encouraging advice: “You can fit this program into your schedule. You’ll make valuable connections who will help you succeed and earn this achievement for yourself. It’s an opportunity to grow, both personally and professionally.”
