Welcome to Clemson, new instructors! Join us for the New Instructor Conference on Thursday, August 14 and drop in for one-on-one support over Zoom the following week. Clemson Online is here to support all instructors at every level who utilize Canvas, Zoom, and other online instructional tools in any teaching modality. 

August 14 – New Instructor Conference

The New Instructor Conference will be held on Thursday, August 14th, with in-person  and Zoom sessions from 12:30-4:30 pm. 

There are 2 tracks for you to choose from: in-person sessions held in Cooper Library, and concurrent Zoom-only sessions. URLs for the Zoom sessions will be sent upon registration.

Zoom sessions marked with an asterisk (*) are unique to the Zoom track, but will be recorded and distributed to all registered participants. View the full schedule and Register Today!

August 18 & 19 – Clemson Online Drop-ins

All Clemson instructors are invited to drop in for one-on-one support with Canvas on August 18th and 19th. Whether you have a quick question, want support building or changing elements of your Canvas course, or want to see an online tool demonstrated, our team is here to help!

August 18, 11 am-12 pm and August 19, 1-2 pm. Drop-ins Zoom link. 

No need to register for drop-ins. Ensure you are logged into Zoom with your Clemson ID to access drop-in hours.

Aug 7 – Introduction to Simple Syllabus (August)

Join us for “Introduction to Simple Syllabus” on Aug 7, from 1:30-2:30 pm! This training will demonstrate how to use the Simple Syllabus tool to build and publish an effective syllabus for your course. The training will also cover integrating Simple Syllabus with Canvas and the benefits of using this tool in your course.

This training session will be held over Zoom. After completing the registration form, you will receive an Outlook calendar invitation, including the Zoom link. All registrants will be sent a copy of the recorded training.

Aug 27 – Workshop Wednesday: Ensuring Alignment in Your Canvas Course

“Workshop Wednesday: Ensuring Alignment in Your Canvas Course” will be held on Wednesday, August 27, from 1:30-2:30 pm! Join this workshop to learn more about aligning your learning objectives and important course components such as learning activities, assessments, instructional materials, and online tools. This training will introduce you to the Quality Matters framework and provide you with practical tools and techniques to ensure alignment in your own course. 

This training session will be held over Zoom. After completing the registration form, you will receive an Outlook calendar invitation, including the Zoom link. All registrants will be sent a copy of the recorded training.
