Did you know? New University Policy on Service and Assistance Animals

One of the first Administrative (campus wide) policies to be approved by the Executive leadership Team (ELT) was the Service and Assistance Animals for Individuals with Disabilities; Service Animals in Training.

Clemson’s IACUC oversight does not include service or assistance animals, although it is possible we may receive inquiries about the welfare of, or a complaint about, an animal that falls under this policy. Concerns or complaints about service or assistance animals can be directed to the Office of Access and Equity, 864-656-0620.

NIH issues new guidance for RCR topics

On February 17, the NIH announced an update to their guidance on Requirement for the Instruction in the Responsible Conduct of Research, NOT-OD-22-055. The changes are effective this fall and impact NIH proposals due on or after September 25, 2022. What are the biggest changes? First, instruction in RCR can no longer be solely remote—since 2020 we have offered our workshops only on Zoom but beginning this fall, we will offer at least one hybrid workshop. Second, there are clarifications to some of the existing RCR topics and one important new one. For more information please review the RCR Topics on our RCR page, and review our other RCR pages to see how Clemson will meet RCR requirements.
