Effective January 9, 2023, all MSP enrollments will be done via BioRAFT/SciShield instead of completing a paper form and faxing/delivering to the Sullivan Center. We will provide more guidance on the IACUC site when it is implemented.

Effective 12/16/2022, an IBC review is NOT required for hazardous chemical use in vertebrate animals. The IACUC AUP has been modified to include the questions previously incorporated in the IBC form, and the safety review will be conducted in conjunction with the IACUC review. Any IBC reviews that were conducted for hazardous chemicals prior to 12/16/22 will not need to be renewed.

The Office of Occupational and Environmental Safety (OES) has developed a “pre review” form you can complete before you submit your AUP if you are using Hazardous Chemicals. You have a copy in the announcement email dated 12/14/22, and we will post it on the IACUC Forms site by 12/16/22.

Effective January 31, 2023, proposals submitted to the NSF will require PI certification that there is a plan in place for addressing abusive behavior, harassment, and in appropriate conduct. The Division of Research is working to develop tools for PIs to use in creating a plan.

We encourage you to attend the RCR workshop on January 23, Sound, Safe, and Scientific Fieldwork: Contemporary Issues and Best Practices.
