Devising Compositions: A Clemson Department of Art Exhibition 2/6 through 3/29

February 4, 2013

The  Clemson University Center for Visual Arts (CVA) and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) join together to present the works of Clemson University Art Department students Wednesday, Feb. 6 – Friday, Mar. 29 at the Patrick Square OLLI Institute location in Clemson, S.C.

This juried exhibition entitled “Devising Compositions: A Clemson Department of Art Exhibition” showcases  23 undergraduate and graduate student mixed media compositions of ceramics, digital media art, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.

An integral part of an art student’s learning process is the opportunity to present works created in the classroom. The partnership with the OLLI Institute allows the community access to rising artists. The students receive formal feedback prior to the 39-piece exhibit from a juried panel consisting of professors Sydney Cross, Denise Woodward-Detrich and Kathleen Thum as well as student peers. This type of real world experience is crucial in the building of a working portfolio which students will utilize after graduation.

Admission to the exhibition and its reception on Friday, Feb. 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. is free. This exhibition has been made possible with support from the Clemson University CVA and OLLI.
