22 Nov, the Fightin Tiger Battalion participated in Military Appreciation Day activities on Bowman field; setting up a tent to give away items which advertised the ROTC program and the US Army. During this time, Cadets were present to assist with as well as talk with children, families, alumni and veterans. Some of the Cadets decided to not just hand out the items, but to make many of the children work for it, having each item worth a number of push ups and the kids would do those to be able to take an item. “I loved being there and talking with all the kids that showed up to the tent. I did the push ups with all the kids so at the end of the day my arms were extremely tired” Cadet David Spearman.
