Mars Base Camp

There has been a lot of Mars-themed excitement this year surrounding the historic launch of the 2020 Mars Mission taking the new Rover Perseverance to the planet Mars, which is expected to land in February 2021! South Carolina 4-H launched its own adventure with Journey to Mars, but the Mars craze is not limited to our state alone! The 2020 National 4-H STEM Challenge is themed Mars Base Camp with four action-packed activities named for various Mars missions. The SC 4-H Science Committee presented a facilitator training and a 4-part series called Mars Mondays throughout the month of October.  Volunteers and educators from all over the country participated in these sessions and a Mars Madness: Seeing the Possibilities workshop at the National 4-H Volunteer Conference.  Current events make this an ideal time to launch your next adventure with 4-H!
