In 2024, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is launching an exciting new project called the EXCITE (Extension Collaborative on Immunization Teaching and Engagement) Bridge Access Program. This initiative is funded through an Inter-agency Agreement with the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The EXCITE Bridge Access Program aims to address equity and bridge the gap in COVID-19 vaccination awareness. The project focuses on informing uninsured and under-insured individuals aged 18 and over about their eligibility for free, updated COVID-19 vaccines. Through EFNEP’s direct delivery and a variety of promotional events and activities, the program will increase awareness of when and how to get vaccinated.
EFNEP will implement this initiative across South Carolina, ensuring that communities have access to vital information and resources related to COVID-19 vaccination. By leveraging its extensive network and educational outreach, EFNEP aims to improve public health outcomes and ensure that everyone has access to the protection they need.
Stay tuned for more details on how the EXCITE Bridge Access Program will be making a positive impact in your community throughout 2024 and beyond!
