Learning from the field: harvesting methods lab visits westminster site

Our FOR4100 Harvesting Methods Lab spent the day in Westminster, South Carolina, where students had the chance to visit an active harvest site alongside Forester Steven Bloom from the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

During the visit, students engaged in meaningful discussions about best management practices in the forestry industry, exploring real-world applications of the concepts they’ve been studying in class. The experience offered valuable insights into sustainable harvesting and forest management, guided by an experienced industry professional.

We extend our sincere thanks to the South Carolina Forestry Commission for their continued support and for welcoming our students for this hands-on learning opportunity. Opportunities like this allow our students to see classroom lessons come to life and better understand the real-world impact of their work.
