Student spotlight series: Jenna Krugler

The first student in our Spotlight Series is Jenna Krugler! Jenna Krugler

Jenna is a PhD student in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology, advised by Dr. David Jachowski. She is studying non-lethal forms of beaver management in South Carolina and the ecology of beavers and stream restoration in the northern Great Plains.

Jenna is currently working with landowners across South Carolina, including non profits and heritage preserves, to find effective and humane ways to manage beaver activity. She is working with them to install non lethal flow devices, such as fencing and culvert pipes, that prevent beavers from causing excessive flooding. Through this work, she’s helping to promote coexistence between people and wildlife while protecting important ecosystems and reducing property damage.
