$4M for National UTC at Clemson University To Lead Cybersecurity Research

The University Transportation Center  (UTC) at Clemson University was selected as one of five national UTC’s to receive funding for innovative research providing vital training for our next generation of transportation leaders. Dr. Mashrur (Ronnie) Chowdhury, the Eugene Douglas Mays Chair of Transportation with the Glenn Department of Civil Engineering is the founding director of the USDOT UTC National Center for Transportation Cybersecurity and Resiliency (TraCR), as well as the founding director of the USDOT UTC Center for Connected Multimodal Mobility (C2M2).  His UTC will monitor and address vulnerabilities of cybersecurity associated with transportation systems and will work on identifying challenges and threats across transportation modes, geographies, and applications.  Clemson researchers will be working with eight colleges and universities to develop software and hardware to defend the transportation system against cyberattack.
