Among the many things that Covid-19 taught us, one thing is that there isn’t anything that we won’t try with Zoom. We held virtual award and graduation ceremonies, virtual social events, online meet and greet hours for incoming sophomores to meet faculty and staff. Is it ideal or easy? The short answer is no. But, in the midst of online classes and virtual daily meetings, the department decided to host our first research symposium in conjunction with our 2021 Spring External Advisory Board meeting.
Our students rose to the occasion and committed to present their research projects virtually in an automatically timed format. Twenty-three projects were submitted and 12 were selected to present. Our advisory board served as judges for the event. It was amazing to see our students perform to such a high standard under pressure. We want to congratulate all of our winners!
