Dr. Ronnie Chowdhury and Clemson C2M2 Receives Prestigious IEEE Lead Award

The IEEE ITS Institutional Lead Award is given annually for ITS researchers, practitioners, and research/development teams who have made significant contributions to research in ITS related fields (ITS Research Award), developed and deployed successful ITS systems or implementations (ITS Application Award), and demonstrated leadership in promoting ITS technologies (ITS Institutional Lead Award). These awards are established to recognize, promote, and publicize major research contributions, application innovations with real-world impact, and ITS institutional leadership.

C2M2,  the Center for Connected Multimodality is a United States Department of Transportation Tier 1 University Transportation Center, C²M²’s research, education, workforce development, technology transfer, and diversity activities will enable students and professionals from diverse socioeconomic groups throughout the state to develop the skills necessary to solve some of the state’s most pressing mobility problems, and will provide a blueprint for addressing similar problems across the United States and around the world.

We are excited about the months and even years ahead as the vision for our center starts coming to life. Dr. Chowdhury accepted the award at the Annual IEEE ITS conference. Chowdhury and C2M2 are among elite past awardees including Google, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley.
