Club of the Month: Clemson Event Planning Association (CEPA)

Check out our latest video on Youtube (@ClemsonCOMM) to see our Club of the Month for November 2021!

Morgan Pinson, President of CEPA 2021

For the month of November we interviewed the president of CEPA, Morgan Pinson. Morgan Pinson is a senior Anthropology major at Clemson University. Morgan joined and became president of CEPA this year… I’d say that’s pretty impressive! As President, Morgan oversees all other executive positions in CEPA and strives to involve new members in the club.

CEPA began a few years ago. Due to COVID-19, however, CEPA is basically starting fresh this year with an entire new executive board and new ideas for the club! CEPA had an event last Thursday, November 11, 2021, where a guest speaker came in to talk about their experiences in working with conventions and companies– they shed light on the corporate side of event planning.

For their next event, CEPA has invited a past president of the organization to talk to members about her career and what it is like as an event planning professional!

Meet the Department: William Ratliff

Although we may be limited in our interactions, we definitely do not want to be strangers. Our Meet the Department series hopes to introduce you to our faculty and staff that support our undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Communication.

Meet: William Ratliff

Today we would like to introduce one of our newest staff members, William Ratliff. Will is a lecturer in the Department of Communication who is teaching Communication 2500 this year.

He studied Communication, Technology, and Culture during his undergrad at Bridgewater College. Will got his M.A. at the University of Dayton studying Communication. After being a TA, Will is excited to embark on this new teaching journey and all that comes with it.

Will did his graduate work in Dayton, Ohio which he says is a little flatter and colder than Clemson so he is very happy to be down here in these beautiful hills. He often walks by the Rowing docks and the trails around there enjoying the nature and beauty of Clemson. If you ever see him, be sure to say hello!

Watch the video below to learn more about William Ratliff and his experience at Clemson so far.
