Falta Wins Award from the National Ground Water Association

Dr. Ron Falta was selected by the National Ground Water Association to receive the 2020 John Hem Award.  The award is given to honor an individual’s significant, recent scientific or engineering contribution to the understanding of groundwater.  Emeritus Professor Fred Molz III nominated Falta for the award.  Dr. Falta joins a list of past winners who are among the top researchers in the field of groundwater.  His primary teaching and research interests are in hydrogeology, contaminant transport/remediation, and multiphase heat and fluid flow in porous media.  Dr. Falta’s research projects have largely focused on environmental remediation of hazardous waste sites, geologic sequestration of carbon dioxide, and mathematical modeling of contaminant transport and remediation.

Congratulations Ron!
