2024 Faculty Climate Survey

In 2017, with support from the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE program, Clemson University’s Advance grant team and Dr. Patrick Rosopa, the team’s Social Science Research Lead, developed and distributed a faculty survey to better understand Clemson’s institutional culture and climate for all faculty.

Post COVID-19 and with the 2023 launch of Clemson’s Office of Faculty ADVANCEment, it is important that we understand the current faculty landscape around culture and climate at Clemson. In this vein, we are inviting you to take part in an updated survey designed to provide data on faculty characteristics, attitudes, and behaviors. The Social Science Research Team includes Dr. Patrick Rosopa, Clemson graduate students Madison Brumbaugh and Rebecca Pool, and the Director of the Clemson Faculty ADVANCEment Office, Dr. Lori Dickes.

Office of Faculty Advancement

This is your chance to share your voice on critical issues related to the faculty experience. The survey will take approximately twenty minutes to complete. Your identity and responses will be kept confidential. The link to the survey: https://clemson.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9MLS7fJ02sp3oPA

Please note that responding to the survey, or any item in it, is voluntary. Since this is a confidential survey, your individual responses are not shared with anyone outside the Social Science Research Team. Survey results are only going to be published in aggregate forms (e.g., percentages, averages), grouped with all other responses, using reporting rules designed to protect your voice. In cases where there is any question related to the number of responses per unit, college-level responses will be aggregated to ensure all privacy.

These aggregated results will be shared with Clemson administrators in the ADVANCEment Office and no individual-level data will be shared or published. Aggregate results may also be used to develop programming and potential policies and practices to improve the Clemson faculty experience.

The research team may be required to share the information we collect with the Clemson University Office of Research Compliance and the Federal Office for Human Research Protections. This information would only be used to find out if the study was conducted properly and that the research team protected your rights in the study. You may also voluntarily submit your email -unlinked from your survey response- for a drawing for $500 and $250 in professional development funds.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

They are an essential part of making Clemson a better place for all.
