The Department of Industrial Engineering’s own Dr. Mary Beth Kurz began her term as President of the Faculty Senate at Clemson on Tuesday, April 12, 2016.  Dr. Kurz takes over this important role on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Senate, which serves as the primary link between faculty and administration at Clemson.  Her election to this vital leadership role at Clemson stems from her many years of consistent dedication to service at Clemson.  Just within her prior Faculty Senate duties at Clemson, Dr. Kurz represented the Senate on the Joint City University Advisory Board, the Academic Athletic Oversight Committee, and on the search committee for the Associate Dean of the Graduate School.  She also served as the Chair of the Policy Committee, where she was a key collaborator in rewriting Clemson’s Faculty Manual.
