National Science Foundation visits Dr. Divya Srinivasan’s lab

Recently, Sethuraman Panchanathan, director of the National Science Foundation (NSF), came to Clemson to visit Clemson’s International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). While discussing the agency’s vision and priorities and meeting with University leaders, Director Panchanathan spent one-on-one time with Dr. Divya Srinivasan and her research team in their CU-ICAR lab. Dr. Srinivasan and her team apply biomechanics and ergonomics for developing and evaluating workplace interventions to improve work performance, and worker health and safety. Dr. Srinivasan and her team led a very interactive session, where all of the participants were inspired and also enjoyed the advice and insightful questions about her exoskeleton studies and research.  “How do we get talent and ideas all across our nation energized? How do you translate those great ideas, and how do we apply the talent to solve societal problems? This is done exceedingly well when I look at Clemson University,” said Panchanathan.
