Congratulations to two Clemson Industrial Engineering students, Jenny Byham and Emily Huffer, who placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the technical paper competition at this year’s IISE Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference at West Virginia University. Jenny Byham presented on her research with Dr. Sarah Riggs on “Quantifying Eye Movement: Changes in Entropy and K-Coefficient,” and Emily Huffer presented her research exploring the question “Does Mobile Technology Make a Difference in Preparing for Surgery?” with Dr. Kevin Taaffe.
The Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers provides many opportunities for Industrial Engineering students at their conferences such as competitions, young alumni panels, keynote speakers, industry networking events, and plant & lab tours. Clemson University’s IISE chapter is excitedly beginning to prepare for their turn to host the IISE Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in 2021.
