Seeking nominations for Thomas Green Clemson Award for Excellence

The Provost’s Office seeks nominations for the Thomas Green Clemson Award for Excellence.

Established in 1999, this distinguished accolade recognizes Clemson University faculty and staff who have made sustained and significant contributions to the academic life at Clemson and who have exhibited exemplary teaching, research and/or service. While all Clemson faculty and staff are eligible, nominations are particularly encouraged for individuals whose contributions have not previously been recognized at the university level.

The award includes $5,000, to be evenly divided between the recipient and the University Libraries.  Recipients of the award  receive a plaque, and their names are added to the perpetual Thomas Green Clemson Award for Excellence plaque on permanent display in the R. M. Cooper Library lobby.  The monies donated to the Libraries will be used to purchase new materials to be added to the Libraries’ collection, and these purchases will include a personalized donor plate honoring the award recipient.

Nominations are confidential, and nominees should not be apprised of their nominations.  Additional guidelines and an online nomination form are available here. Completed nomination packets must be received in the Provost’s office, 206 Sikes Hall, by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

The recipient(s) will be announced at the General Faculty/Staff Meeting scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at the Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
