
Last week, Digital Learning Strategist Leslie Fuller hosted Workshop Wednesday. Her session was titled Effective Canvas Organization and Course Design. This session focused on providing viewers with important tips to help make their Canvas course design more efficient.
Fuller began the session by showcasing an effective course Home Page. First impressions with students matter! After that, she addressed many crucial areas of course design, providing tips on properly organizing and utilizing these aspects of Canvas. The topics she covered were: establishing effective pathways for instructor communication, intuitive course navigation for students, how to organize course modules and assignments, creating module overview pages, and lastly managing pages, files, and course videos.
Along with invaluable tips and guidelines to enhance your overall Canvas course design, Fuller also provided model examples of effective Canvas course design. This could help you take the extra step in utilizing effective course design, granting both you and your students better avenues to success.

Improving Your Online Course
October 9 – November 20
This asynchronous workshop explores the QM Rubric and provides a framework to improve the quality of online courses. Participants use the QM Rubric to review their own online courses and develop a course improvement plan. Participants come away with a plan for course improvement, so enrolling in the workshop with a pre-developed online or hybrid course is required.
