Special Recognitions for Clemson Online Staff
A successful Spring 2022 semester has concluded with two special awards bestowed upon some of our hard-working employees here at Clemson Online.
David Bassett (Learning Technology Administrator) received the Provost’s Outstanding Staff Award. This award recognizes a staff member who has provided exemplary contributions to the division of Academic Affairs and the University at large. Award winners are individuals who achieve overall excellent performance and routinely exceed expectations in their work.
David has consistently gone above and beyond in his work to support Clemson faculty and staff in their use of learning technologies across the University. His work supported the successful shift to emergency remote learning during COVID-19 pandemic operations and continues to be key in the steadily increasing use of Canvas, Zoom, and other vital technologies in academics and operations.
Dr. Lori Kinley (Associate Director of Online Development), Rachel Greene (Digital Learning Designer), Chase Sanders (Digital Learning Designer) and Laura Scott (Instructional Designer) collectively received the Friend of Extension Award, which is the highest honor that can be presented to a non-member of Cooperative Extension. Award winners are recognized for their outstanding support for Extension educational programming.
Dr. Kinley and her team were commended for their tireless work in supporting the development, implementation, and promotion of online horticulture programs that serve the needs of multiple stakeholders of all ages across the state of South Carolina. The team established a micro-credentialing plan for learners across most Extension programs and have issued over 800 digital completion badges to date. Clemson Online has also established the first Quality Matters certification program for online Extension courses. Every course is reviewed, ensuring quality across the wide variety of courses available to the public.
Clemson Online continues to provide exceptional support for the development of for- and non-credit online offerings, learning technology use in all classroom modalities, and innovative collaborations across the University. Please join us in congratulating these staff members in recognition of their hard work!
