We’re Here for the Summer

May 22, 2023

We’re here all summer to support you as you teach or prepare future courses.

Summer is a great time to make adjustments to your courses, learn a new tool, or try out new teaching methods. Clemson Online is here to support you!

Video Production

Refresh your course videos by trying out the Lightboard, a new location, or an updated demonstration. Check out the full range of services and schedule a recording session. Contact Dallas Lenderman for more information.

Online Instructional Development

Attend a professional development session on Learning Objectives, Group Assignments, Design Principles, and more to improve your Canvas course. Our Quick Hits this summer offer short sessions on making the most of various tools within Canvas.

Review our Summer 2023 Events Calendar. If you can’t join live, register anyway to receive a copy of the recording. Contact James Butler with any questions on these sessions.

Asynchronous COFFEE Courses

Brush up on your visual or accessibility skills while you have a break. We offer a whole series of self-paced courses. These two are especially great for the summer:

COFFEE: Accessibility – Guides instructors through the processes of making their courses as accessibility-friendly as possible. This includes lessons in making Canvas course sites, printed materials, and other instructional materials accessible. It also covers foundational rules of student accessibility at Clemson and how to provide video captions.

COFFEE: Video and Visual – Introduces available technology and best practices for creating effective videos and visual artifacts for instructors. Topics covered include: editing videos and captions, creating effective presentation slide decks, designing effective learning content in Canvas, and more.

Individual Consultations

Schedule a conversation with one or our specialists in learning technology and online pedagogy. We can help you think through options and find solutions for your courses, big and small.

Wednesday, May 24 at 1:30 PM

Examining the foundations of your course is a powerful means of identifying areas of improvement. Whether you are building a brand new course or revising a current one, join us to discuss your learning objectives and course alignment. This presentation will introduce you to what counts as specific and measurable learning objectives and what it means to align your learning activities, assessments, and course materials with those learning objectives.

Facilitated by Leslie Fuller, Ph.D., Digital Learning Strategist.

Register here for Learning Objectives and Course Alignment on May 24th .
