IRB Review is required for all research activities involving human subjects conducted by faculty, staff and students regardless of the funding support and study location. Join the IRB staff to learn helpful information and instructions on how to submit an IRB Protocol.

The Zoom link will be available on the IRB Webpage the day of the workshop. No passcode is required to join the Zoom sessions. You must login with your Clemson account to join the session.

Join us for an insightful presentation on research protection and ethical collaboration. American universities lead the way in cutting-edge research, but when this research is exploited by individuals with nefarious intentions, it can have serious consequences—tarnishing reputations, leading to funding losses, lab closures, and legal issues.

This session, presented by the FBI, will focus on: Steps to secure intellectual property and research materials and proper practices for collaborating with international universities.

The narrow federal definition of Research Misconduct–Fabrication/Falsification/Plagiarism–does not account for all sorts of other bad practices, including unprofessional conduct, which can include but is not limited to harassment, bullying, etc. This presentation will include how professional misconduct is defined, how these behaviors impact research integrity, how to prevent and report misconduct in all forms, and the potential outcomes.

The IRB and IACUC Compliance module InfoEd eForms have been upgraded. The new eForms have a cleaner more Clemson oriented look and feel and have been restructured for an overall easier submission process. You may now use them to submit applications. Thank you for your patience during the upgrade.

The IRB Office will continue testing the new forms December 2-6, 2024. No new IRB submissions are allowed during testing.  

The IRB submissions portal will reopen for researchers to use on December 9 at 8am. All submissions created before December 9 will be deleted.  

Demo sessions to introduce the new forms to the campus community will be held December 10 and 17 at 12pm via Zoom. 

The links to create a new IRB submission (e.g., Initial Application, Amendment, Progress Report, etc.) were deactivated at 4:30pm on November 22, 2024. All IRB submissions created in InfoEd but not officially submitted to our office were permanently deleted on Monday, November 25 to prevent compatibility issues with the new eforms.

The IRB Office will continue to review and approve submitted applications during the deployment process.

The IRB submissions portal will be re-activated 8am on December 9 for new submissions.

Demonstration sessions will be scheduled in December to introduce the campus community to the new forms.

November 11, 2024 (Update) – Please see the new blog post “Updated Information on Deployment of New IRB InfoEd eForms and Access to the Submission Portal” for the latest information.

November 8, 2024 – New IRB eForms will be launched December 2-6, 2024. The IRB submissions system will be unavailable after November 22 to prepare for the deployment of the new forms.

Any submissions—such as initial applications, amendments, progress reports—that are created in InfoEd but not officially submitted to the CU-IRB Office by November 22 will be permanently deleted to prevent compatibility issues with the new eForms.

• If you are planning to start recruiting participants before February 1, 2025, submit your application by November 22.

• If you are planning to start recruiting participants after February 1, 2025, we recommend submitting your application after December 6, when the new eForms are deployed.
