“I look forward to developing a greater understanding of how flexographic printing works. Additionally, I have found making plates and learning how to operate the flexo press to be very interesting and entertaining. After graduating in December, the goal is to start a career in medical device/pharmaceutical packaging. Healthcare packaging has always been something of interest to me. It is so bittersweet as I wrap up my last semester here, but I am excited for the things I will learn in the lab and how they can help me in my future career.”

“I am particularly interested in going into website design and development after graduation. I am super excited about this internship because I get to explore a world of graphics that I never thought I would work in, and it has been really eye-opening. I am enjoying learning all about flexographic printing and I am excited to see where this internship will take me!”

“My career goal is to get a job that is focused on the structural design aspect of packaging. Although this internship is more focused on graphic design than structural, I believe that continuous exposure to the hands-on work that is done in the lab will still provide me with experiences and skill sets that are unlike anything that I could gain from a class.”

“This is my second semester working at the Sonoco Institute. Through interning here, I have grown to love working with the students, seeing senior projects, and creating my own projects along the way. I hope to increase my knowledge of packaging science and graphics through strengthening my current skillset through hands-on experience.”

“This fall will be my second semester as a design and prototyping intern. I look forward to growing my knowledge of structural design and enhancing my Adobe Illustrator skills.”
