The Glenn Department of Civil Engineering invites applications for multiple positions at multiple levels. We are seeking candidates with an exemplary record of scholarly work and a research vision that promotes collaboration within the Department and School, between regional/national industry partners, and a broad set of stakeholders, including federal and state agencies. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to addressing societal grant challenges within the following areas:
- Construction Engineering and Management (Assistant/Associate) – Seeking Candidates with exceptional ability to conduct innovative research in, but not limited to, smart and sustainable buildings, emerging technologies in digital modeling and construction automation, construction safety, alternate contracting methods, industrialized construction, construction supply chain, de-carbonization of the construction industry, and human-centered solutions for resilient critical infrastructure are encouraged to apply. - Structural Engineering (Assistant/Associate) – Seeking candidates specializing in structural engineering with expertise in research areas such as maintenance and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure, climate change mitigation and adaptation, design of low-carbon or carbon-neutral structures, and the application of advanced computational and data science methods in structural engineering design. - Bob Benmosche Endowed Professor in Risk Engineering and System Analytics (Associate/Full) – Seeking candidates with exceptional ability to conduct interdisciplinary research efforts in risk-related engineering to improve the understanding of risks linked to natural and man-made phenomena, mitigate their effects and better prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in research areas such as foundational principles of risk engineering and management, risk management analytics and risk mitigation, enterprise risk and decision making, estimation of engineering risk probability, financial/property/safety risk engineering.
