Elaine Richardson, Professor Emerita of Animal and Veterinary Sciences and Director, retired in 2014. In 2017, she coordinated a team to participate in Pledge the Pink, a 3 Day/ 3 Island/ 10 miles a day walk to raise money for screening, treatment, and breast cancer research.  Her team, the Tumornators, had 9 members

who collectively raised over $4000.

Published Writing Details: Conducted a survey to gather data about the use of advisory boards in learning centers. Results were incorporated into a journal article about best practices in learning centers.  Craig, A., Richardson, E., & Harris, J. Exhibition Details: Invited presentation to SC Senate DOC Oversight Subcommittee on benefits of providing higher education opportunities to inmates.

Volunteer Details: Serving on Clemson Historic West End neighborhood board.  Member of City of Clemson Board of Zoning Appeals.

President, Board of Directors for Carolina Cups,  nonprofit public charity dedicated to funding breast cancer screening, treatment and research.  Pledge the Pink (a 3 day, 10 miles per day walk) is the signature fundraising event for Carolina Cups.

Co-captain for Tumornators, a team participating in the Pledge the Pink walk for the second consecutive year.  The Tumornators represent the Clemson Area Bosom Buddies, a local breast cancer support group.  Event will be held October 26-28, 2018.

Vice-president, Board of Directors for Clemson Area Bosom Buddies, a breast cancer support group.  I’ve been involved in this support group since 1996.  In 2018, we applied for and received non-profit status.  I led application for grant from the Dabo Swinney All In Foundation to fund support group activities; results pending.

Led application for joint application (local residents, Clemson Arts and Cultural Commission, and Clemson Center for the Arts) for 2018 Hughes Investments Elevate Upstate Grant to provide seed money for IDEAS Festival.  We have been selected as one of 5 finalists, with presentation and final awards announced in mid November.

Appointment by Governor Henry McMaster to the Palmetto Unified School District Board, effective November 12, 2018.

Board Member for National College Learning Center Association as Certification Chair.  Chair for learning Centers of Excellence Committee.
