Clemson IE celebrated one of its most successful academic years at its Industrial Engineering Banquet on Tuesday, April 18th at Clemson University’s Madren Center. This year’s event grew from an annual awards ceremony honoring top students to an event that celebrated the entire senior class.

The annual IE event serves as a celebration of the academic year and heralds the achievements of IE’s highly talented student body. The volume of awards and scholarships earned by this year’s Clemson IE student body is an indicator of why the department is gaining prominence among its peers and why program rankings are on the rise. This year’s banquet set the new standard for departmental celebration and included a social reception, Italian buffet, photo booth, and senior superlatives. The evening was capped off by the highly anticipated announcement of the Teaching Assistant of the Year, Professor of the Year, and IE Senior Superlative awards. The Teaching Assistant of the Year and the Professor of the Year awards hold special value because they are awarded based on the popular vote of the students. This year’s Teaching Assistant of the Year was awarded to Myrtede Alfred, and for the second straight year, the Professor of the Year went to Dr. Jon Lowe. View Photos >>
