Dr. Qi Luo and Dr. Amin Khademi in the Department of Industrial Engineering have received a prestigious award of funding from the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Operations Engineering program.
Their project entitled “Early-Stage Clinical Trials with Patient Choice” will span from 2023 to 2026. Their research will delve into innovative patient-centric trial designs with a dual focus on improving patient treatment outcomes and information gain. They will look into factors such as patient preferences, individual health conditions, and predicted responses to treatments to design clinical trials, ultimately benefiting the development of new medicines.
